Hello, many people ask, whydo cell phone company’s do a credit check when ordering a new cell phone and cell phone plan signup or ask for your credit card number when your total comes to $0.
Here’s a comment on our YouTube page, “It’s funny because they require most of the personal information to secretly bill the person who gets? the phone. Not a good way to get a so called “Free” Cell Phone”
Our response was, “you may want to think this over again. what do you mean by ‘secretly bill the person who gets the phone’? A free phone is always a free phone, if you pay for the service you agreed to when you got the free phone.”
The phone IS free, the service is where the money comes in. BUT if you already were going to get cell phone service, isn’t it better to sign up here online at FreePhoneWithPlan then go to the physical store and pay sometimes over $100 for the same model? cell phone? You only get the not so ‘secret charge’ IF you don’t pay for your service agreement.
To? clear the only possible charge on this new free phone you must keep your account in good standing for at least 6 months, then you are off the hook as far as the phone goes. Beyond that every carrier has there ‘early termination fee’ if you quit paying before your 2 year contract is up. No secret charges until you stop paying for your cell phone SERVICE, agreed to by signing up and getting this awesome free phone.
It’s a simple process to grasp, nothing funny about the truth maybe only for the person who? only wants the free phone with no strings attached . Following i will post more reasons why they ask for your personal info when signing up for a new cell phone plan with free phone choices galore. The name of the website should give you the clear clues to the? free phone offers. Free Phone With Plan. It doesn’t say FREE Phone only.
This commenter further states, “I’m talking about actually getting the Phone for free without paying for service on that site.? What if I just want the cell phone and that’s it? I unchecked the Service thing and it still charges me by asking for a credit card or check.”
We say, “Of course FreePhoneWithPlan does sell ‘phones only’ but you can be sure they are not offering it for free. If you want food to eat do you go to the grocery store and expect them? to give it to you for free?”
If you read on further you will see why they ask for a credit card even if your total is $0. It makes complete sense to me. Why in the world would some one give you a free PDA that cost hundreds of dollars, just for your happiness. It would be nice. but not likely. You ought to think about how life works, there are guidelines to success.
The truth can see the lie. To plan on getting a free phone and not make payments on the plan you are signing up for is obviously a scam and that is why they ask for your credit card and do a credit check to avoid people from actually stealing their products with intentional fraud.
FreePhoneWithPlan.com does offer cell phones with no contracts. When on the site and you click on a carrier on the home page, you will see on your? next page a choice to choose ‘a replacement, no contract phone on right side of page. then click on ‘change phone’ to see your choices. IT will not be free.
WHY Do carriers do a ‘credit check’? Here are a few reasons they do.
1. They are not checking your credit because you purchased the phone. They are checking your credit because you are taking out the service contract. They want to make sure you will be able to pay the monthly service fees.
2, Your credit report is a history of how you handle credit. How you pay your bills. Your cellphone company is providing you a service, they want to make sure that you intend to pay for that service. If you have prior collection accounts with other cell phone providers why should this cell phone company think that you will treat them any differently.
3. Your credit report is a profile, a resume. They aren’t just selling you a cell phone and moving on like the store sells you a gallon of milk. You are getting into an agreement or contract with them. They want to know how you have handled other contracts and agreements in the past.
4. Because they want to see if you pay your bills on time. Once they give you a phone (or sell it at a deep discount) they plan on keeping you as a customer for at least 2 years to make their money back. If you dont pay your bills on time, they will drop you, and lose the money on the discounted phone. If you dont have good enough credit, you could get a prepaid phone instead and pay as you go.
5. Cell phone companies give you a huge discount on the phone in exchange for signing a contractso if you get the phone and dont pay theyre out a large amount of money.
6. another reason why they check your credit and ask for a credit card number even if there are no charges because you are getting a free phone and it ships for free BUT they want to be sure the person ordering and receiving the phone is the same person who lives at the credit card holders address
7. (you can also easily verify with customer service if using someone else’s card) and is all the same as the shipping address and is on record associated with the person ordering. If not they will ask for a previous address if you have not been living at this place for at least 2 years. This way it’s identity/fraud protection too.
